Let the Battle Begin!!!!

I call it a Battle...because quite simply that is how it feels. The battle of Good vs. Evil....right vs. wrong...Healthy vs. Easy. The list goes on and on. Things have been going pretty well for me. The biggest adjustment is trying to keep my nutrition on track. Dan, my Oz fitness trainer, has me eating every 4 hours(400calories). It's great when I am really disciplined and stick to it. My schedule is busy right now with work, 2 football teams, 1 basketball team, and DJing weddings that during the week I stick to the plan pretty well. On the weekends my schedule is so different that I have really struggled! The good news is that my current weekend of "struggling" is way better than how I would have ate a few weeks ago on a "normal day".

My workouts have been going good. Unfortunately my trainer Dan got married...ok that sounds bad...sorry Dan. All that really means is that he wasn't available for a couple of days. We worked out last week, but I haven't done anything this week!!! I wish I was to the point the I would really miss it if I didn't go for a few days...but obviously I'm not there yet!! Still need that appointment to get me there. Dan and the OZ fitness crew have been great. They make the experience fun and I want to go back!

Hoping my workout today is great and that I take one more step towards my goal to SHAPE UP!

Shape up!

Sometimes it's weird how you just decide its time to really change your life. There are a couple of events that have made up my mind about being healthier. One would be the good ole' "the camera doesn't lie" theory! I was watching some video of my son's football and I was on the sideline coaching and I was thinking as I watched "wow I don't feel that HUGE when I'm out there" but I sure didn't like what I saw! Then other factor was just the fact that at 37 years old I have began to realize, "we only get one chance and I'm not getting any younger". You always hear people say that but of course it never means anything until you feel it. I was listening to the Trace Adkins song your gonna miss this and I was thinking about my family and how quickly it changes. I just thought about what life would be like at 55 or 60 or 65. My health was a big question mark for my future. How will I be able to get around?? How many problems might I have? Will I even make it that long? That was a very powerful moment. I need to change!

OZ fitness has been great! We talked to them about me getting a trainer and they were very excited! My trainer Dan is a perfect fit for me. He realizes where I'm at right now with my fitness and is giving me work outs that are realistic. I still want to come back the next day. :)

I'm very excited about this chance to change my life forever!!! I hope that some of you reading this will decide to jump on board and change your life as well. Let me know how your doing! It's always better having a group and support! Let's SHAPE UP!

Talk to ya soon,
